Glycochemistry : sugar engineering and active ingredient delivery

Enhancing the efficacy, stability, and specificity of molecules through glycoscience

Are you looking to solubilize a hydrophobic active ingredient, develop targeted therapies (AAV), design effective vaccines, or create bio-guided cosmetic ingredients?

To address these challenges, CAPACITÉS transforms the complexity of sugars into concrete R&D solutions for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and nutrition industries.

Summary

Services

No matter what challenges you face, our experts provide you with practical and innovative solutions.

Glycochemistry and molecular targeting

Although your active ingredients show promise, they often lack specificity or cause adverse effects.

The attachment of targeted sugar moieties (site-selective glycoconjugation) transforms your molecules into “guided missiles” recognized by specific cellular receptors (lectins).

  • Increased therapeutic index and reduced toxicity.
  • Modification of the surface of viral capsids (AAV) and antibodies (ADC).
  • Development of glycoconjugate vaccines that elicit a strong immune response.

Solubility and stability of active ingredients

In fact, many active ingredients remain difficult to utilize due to their insolubility in water or their instability.

Therefore, we use commercially available, chemically modified cyclodextrins to encapsulate and protect the target molecule.

  • A 10- to 100-fold increase in bioavailability and water solubility.
  • Prolonged, time-controlled release (slow-release).
  • Protection against oxidation and masking of odors and bitterness.
